Individuals and groups

I was listening to the New Discourses podcast today, when it struck me that perhaps now everyone share the same view I have, of how one understand other people. I always assume I can never fully understand another humans experience or vision, just as they will never fully be able to understand mine. This in my view is completely unrelated to shallow things such as skin color, ethnicity, age, sexuality, gender, sex and so on. Perhaps it is easier to find common ground of understand with people who share the same traits or genetical similarities as you, but until you can inhabit another persons body and mind, it is just not ever going to happen. In my experience, someone who appears quite similar to me doesn’t necessarily have anything in common with me, and we may struggle to communicate due to differences in politics, upbringing, intelligence or something else. I do know however, that I can meet someone who is completely “unlike me”, and we can click, just like that.

I wish people would just stop thinking that exterior is an important factor. I also think they should stop caring about other peoples sexualities, who needs to know?
